Shorthorn Shots of the Week 5/2

It was an extremely hectic week as things are winding down for The Shorthorn and classes. I’ll make this short since I’m still wishing for 36-hour days to get everything done. Overall it was pretty interesting shooting at the Ballpark in Arlington for the first time, male waxing for a cause, Baptists raising money by slip ‘n sliding through food and Relay For Life all in the same week. The videos I did turned out pretty good though. Needless to say I’m exhausted and still have lots to do. I’m looking forward to what the last week of work holds. Enjoy.

A beautiful day for UTA Night at the Ballpark in Arlington.

President James Spaniolo throws out the first pitch on Monday during UTA Night at the Ballpark in Arlington. Spaniolo said that this cooperation between UTA and the Rangers exemplified the fact that UTA is a major university. (The Shorthorn: Andrew Buckley)

Political science junior Jordan Shirley, right, tears a waxing sheet off of psychology junior Mo Awadalla’s leg Wednesday on the Central Library mall. Awadalla was raising money for a Push America cross-country bike ride that will take him from San Francisco to Washington, D.C. in 64 days. Shirley said he wanted to help because “the money is going towards a good cause and it’s always fun to pull hair off of a guy’s leg.” (The Shorthorn: Andrew Buckley

Members of the Metroplex Association of Career Schools team walk as night falls on the Relay For Life fundraising event at the Coca Cola Pavilion on Friday. The American Cancer Society's annual event brought out over 1,100 participants on 88 teams to walk for 12 hours to raise money for cancer research and support services.
