Shorthorn Shots of the Week 1/30

Here's the new installment of my "best of" series from The Shorthorn. It was a somewhat slow week this week but that's never an indication of whats to come. I tried some new things this week with shooting wildart and continued to progress in finding emotion while shooting the Mavs (of the UTA variety). Hopefully, if everything works out, there will be a few photo stories in the near future so stay tuned.

Business administration and economics junior Zain Hemani, left, shoots over biology sophomore Justin Varghese while playing a game of "21" on Tuesday at the Maverick Activities Center. Hemani said that he tries to play three or four times a week and likes the great weather so they can play outside. (The Shorthorn: Andrew Buckley)

Aerospace Engineering freshman Daniel Glowicz flies his remote control helicopter Tuesday outside of the Maverick Activities Center. Glowicz has been flying RC helicopters for six months and helps build aerial vehicles for the UTA Autonomous Vehicles Laboratory. (The Shorthorn: Andrew Buckley)

Sophomore center Ishmael Awange, left, battles Bearkat forward Preston Brown for possession of a rebound on Saturday during the Mavericks' loss at Texas Hall. (The Shorthorn: Andrew Buckley)

Senior guard Brandon Long flies towards the basket. (The Shorthorn: Andrew Buckley)

Senior guard Marquez Haynes makes a diving pass down the court after stealing the ball late in the first half. (The Shorthorn: Andrew Buckley)

Freshman forward Jordan Reves, right, spins around the Bearkats' Gilberto Clavell on Saturday. (The Shorthorn: Andrew Buckley)

Senior guard Marquez Haynes elevates over Bearkats guard Corey Allmond for a layup. (The Shorthorn: Andrew Buckley)
