Intermediate Photography at UTA
So far in my Int. Photo class at UTA we have done a still life or staged project and a masking assignment. For still life, used action figures to create cinematic action scenes that could be from movies or TV shows. The trick was to create a sense of larger scale when in reality the scenes are on the scale of a 6 inch action figure. For the masking project, I used cutouts of eyes and a mouth to create portraits of figures that we would never see in reality. Figures that have lost sight and speech or have had their eyes or mouth tansplanted to another part of the body. A sense of metaphorical masking can also be seen if you look deeper past the straight forward imagery.
